能調整食慾強弱 或想吃的食物嗎？
還是能任意切換此刻的情緒 喜憂悲懼？

看似肇因於己的事
卻彷彿身不由己
.
主宰我們的是基因？腸道菌？神經電位？
還是所謂的靈魂？緣分？上蒼？

Are we our own masters?
How often can we make arbitrary decision?
.
Can we decide who to fall in love with and how deep we fall?
Can we adjust our appetite or pick which food we love?
Can we switch our mood freely, choosing to feel happy, sad or fear?
.
These are all matters that seem to be in our hands but they really aren’t.

What is really governing us? Genes? Gut flora? Neuro?
Or so called soul? Fate? God?
